New Standards for Australian berry, leafy vegetable and melon producers and processors

On 12 August 2022, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) approved proposal P1052: Primary Production and Processing (PPP) requirements for Horticulture (Berries, Leafy Vegetables and Melons). The standards are the first nationally-consistent production and processing Food Standards Code requirements for these types of horticulture products. The article examines the context and consequences of the standards introduced by Proposal P1052.
