Updated NSW Food Regulation 2025: New requirements for New South Wales food businesses

On 1 September 2025, the new Food Regulation 2025 took effect in New South Wales, replacing the previously existing Food Regulation 2015. The new regulation introduces significant changes to the food industry, such as a new licensing scheme for berry, leafy vegetable and melon businesses. The regulation also updates the meat, dairy, egg, plant product, seafood and vulnerable persons food safety schemes.
