this August 2026 edition of FoodLegal Bulletin
Our FREE article “Current developments in food law and policy in Australia and internationally” provides the latest regulatory
developments and updates. There have been many news developments over the past
month and it is vital to read these updates. FoodLegal can advise businesses on
the impact of specific updates to their particular situation and also in
relation to any particular products.
In “Actions on ‘fresh’, ‘free range’ and origin claims show food marketing is always under the microscope” we explore lessons for food businesses to reduce their
marketing risk, drawing from current and previous regulatory actions.
In “Impact of recent Federal Court of Australia decision on grocery pricing method requirements”,
we examine the relevant precedents and impacts for retail price-setting
following action against one of Australia’s largest supermarkets.
In “The regulation of dietary fibre in Australia”, we address the regulatory and practical
issues arising from the use of dietary fibre, including questions about
marketing claims, the calculation of fibre and the use of fibre isolates.
