Mandatory food recalls versus ‘voluntary’ food recalls
Food recalls may be implemented through one of two ways: either a food business will voluntarily initiate a recall, or a regulator may mandatorily require it. This article considers the powers of the States and Territories to implement mandatory recalls, as well as the factors at play that may prevent authorities from exercising those powers.
