Do food service products require a country of origin label?

The Country of Origin Food Labelling Information Standard 2016 which came into effect on 1 July 2018, provides that there are two categories of food that require a compliant country of origin statement: food that is suitable for retail sale and food that is sold as suitable for retail sale. This article explores whether food service products require a compliant country of origin statement and assessing the risk when deciding whether a country of origin label is required.
