What information must accompany unlabelled food?
The labelling requirements under the Food Standards Code deals with both packaged and unpackaged food. Unpackaged food is not required to bear a label, however other information may be provided to a consumer, including the name of the food, and mandatory advisory statements or declarations regarding the presence of particular substances, the directions for usage of the food, nutritional health claims, country of origin statements and trade measurements of the price per kilogram.
