Proposal P1039 - Microbiological Criteria for Infant Formula

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has assessed a proposal prepared by FSANZ to amend the Code to include food safety microbiological criteria for infant formula, aligning with international (Codex) standards. On 9 October 2015, FSANZ sought submissions on a draft variation and published an associated report. FSANZ received nine submissions. FSANZ approved the draft variation on 3 March 2016. The Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation (Forum) was notified of FSANZ’s decision on 16 March 2016.
