National Environment Protection (Used Packaging Materials) Measure 2011 This Measure provides regulatory underpinning for the Australian Packaging Covenant. Together, the two are intended to reduce the environmental impacts of packaging. The purposes of this Measure is to: - reduce environmental degradation arising from the disposal of used packaging - conserve virgin materials through the encouragement of waste avoidance - the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials
