Is my product a priority food or non priority food?
The Country of Origin Food Labelling Information Standard 2016 (the Information Standard), divides foods into “Priority” and “Non-Priority” categories. Non-priority foods are subject to lesser labelling requirements under the Information Standard. However, a manufacturer may voluntarily apply the labelling requirements of a priority food to a non-priority food. Requirements for non-priority foods are covered in Sections 24 and 25 of the Information Standard.
