Food classification implications of new amendments to Schedule 22 of Food Standards Code

On 8 June 2022 Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) approved Proposal M1019 - Review of Schedule 22 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code – Foods and classes of foods (2021). Schedule 22 is particularly relevant to Maximum Residue Limits. This article examines the nature and implications of the changes made to Schedule 22 by Proposal M1019.
