Application A1249 - Addition of phytosterols, phytostanols or their esters as novel food to plant-based milk alternatives (Call for Submissions)

FSANZ has assessed an application made by Sanitarium Health Food Company seeking to amend the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to extend the current permissions in the Code for plant sterols to also allow the addition of phytosterols, phytostanols or their esters as novel food to plant-based milk alternatives. FSANZ has prepared a draft food regulatory measure. Pursuant to section 31 of the FSANZ Act, FSANZ now calls for submissions to assist consideration of the draft food regulatory measure.
