Application A1226 - Food derived from insect-protected corn line MON95379 (Approval Report)
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has assessed an application made by Bayer CropScience Proprietary Limited seeking to permit the sale and use of food derived from a food produced using gene technology: corn line MON95379. This corn line has been genetically modified to protect against parasitic lepidopteran insect pests. On 16 September 2021, FSANZ sought submissions on a draft to Schedule 26 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and published an associated report. FSANZ received two submissions. FSANZ approved the draft variation on 2 February 2022. The Food Ministers’ Meeting (formerly the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation) was notified of FSANZ’s decision on 10 February 2022.
