Application A1206 Subtilisin from GM Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid (enzyme) (Call for Submissions)

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has assessed an application made by Novozymes Australia Pty Ltd to permit the use of subtilisin from a genetically modified strain of Bacillus licheniformis containing the subtilisin gene from Pyrococcus furiosus, as a processing aid in the production of potable alcohol. FSANZ has prepared a draft food regulatory measure. Pursuant to section 31 of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 (FSANZ Act), FSANZ now calls for submissions to assist consideration of the draft food regulatory measure.
