Application A1185 - Alpha-amylase from GM Aspergillus niger as a processing aid (enzyme) (Call for Submissions)

FSANZ has assessed an application made by Novozymes Australia Pty Ltd to permit the use of alphaamylase from a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus niger containing the alpha-amylase gene from Rhizomucor pusillus as a processing aid in starch processing and the production of potable alcohol. FSANZ has prepared a draft food regulatory measure. Pursuant to section 31 of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 (FSANZ Act), FSANZ now calls for submissions to assist consideration of the draft food regulatory measure.
