Application A1172 - Enzymatic production of Rebaudioside D - Approval Report

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has assessed an application made by SweeGen, Inc. to amend the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code) to include a new specification for rebaudioside D (Reb D) produced by an enzymatic conversion method. On 12 February 2019, FSANZ sought submissions on a draft variation and published an associated report. FSANZ received seven submissions. FSANZ approved the draft variation on 12 June 2019. The Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation was notified of FSANZ’s decision on 20 June 2019.
