Application A1136 – Protein Glutaminase as a Processing Aid (Enzyme) - Approval Report

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has assessed an application made by Amano Enzyme Inc. to permit the use of protein-glutaminase from Chryseobacterium proteolyticum strain AE-PG as a processing aid to enhance protein solubility in various products. On 21 September 2017, FSANZ sought submissions on a draft variation and published an associated report. FSANZ received seven submissions. FSANZ approved the draft variation on 7 February 2018. The Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation was notified of FSANZ’s decision on 20 February 2018.
