Specifying number of units on pack, and other exemptions to Australia’s trade measurement requirements
The National Trade Measurement Regulations made under the National Measurement Act require most pre-packaged goods, including foods, to bear a trade measurement statement. However, there are exceptions for certain goods, where the number of units can be specified instead of providing a trade measurement statement. This article explains the general rule, the exception for specifying units on pack and compares with other exceptions such as unit pricing.
