Food Marketing Claims

The workshop runs from 10:30am - 12:30pm AEST* online via Zoom

* AEST is Australian Eastern Standard Time

Do you know how to assess the risk of your marketing claims, or what substantiation evidence you might need? Many marketing opportunities exist outside of the Food Standards Code. To make the most of them, it is vital to be across the latest ACCC priorities and enforcement approaches.

Our online interactive FoodLegal workshop will empower you to assess the regulatory risk of the latest emerging and trending claims.

In this workshop we will explain:

  •   How consumer claims are regulated in Australia;
  •   The risks and opportunities to be aware of, including for social media;
  •   The latest Court precedents and regulatory enforcement actions that can impact trending food product claims;
  •   What is required to substantiate different types of trending claims to reduce your risk level.

We will cover a range of trending claims including:

  •   Premium claims
  •   Emphasising ingredients or product qualities
  •   Place of origin and company ownership claims
  •   Country of origin claims (e.g. Made in Australia) & what "substantial transformation" actually means
  •   The difference between vegan, plant-based and vegetarian
  •   Natural claims

AND many more....
