Protecting privacy for your product development

There has been ongoing debate in Australia and elsewhere about protecting rights to privacy versus transparency that might enhance public accountability. Excessive privacy is seen as the bane of the news media, but protection of privacy is also an important element of democracy and our justice system. This article examines the concept of “legal professional privilege” (sometimes described as client’s legal privilege), which provides a longstanding legal right that can protect documents from disclosure.
