Although the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and other enforcement agencies do not appear to have been involved in litigation on this issue, FSANZ in 2005 agreed with an Application (A464) from BRI Australia Ltd and amended the definitions of ‘wholemeal’ and ‘wholegrain’ to afford greater clarity and to be consistent with industry and international practices.
