The recent FSANZ and OGTR technical reviews of GM and GMO regulatory implications

New genetic modification technologies for foods and associated processes are emerging. Some do not fit within the current regulatory frameworks. This has resulted in reviews of GMO laws for Australia by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator and Food Standards Australia New Zealand. This article deals with some of the regulatory implications of possible changes and broader effects.
